Washington School celebrated our 8th annual Thanksgiving Balloon Parade today, and it was absolutely amazing! So many creative and unique balloon designs filled the halls. We were especially honored to have Mrs. Meisner as our Grand Marshal this year.
Each year this tradition grows bigger and better—and this one was no exception.
Wishing you and your families a very Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃🎈

Introducing.... Goose on the Loose Cafe! Students in Mrs. Travis class are putting academic and communication skills into practice. We are open Tuesdays and Fridays, with occasional pop-ups, to deliver fresh hot drinks to staff members. Students have their hand in the whole process from stocking items, making the drinks, measuring, delivering, and counting money!

Mrs. Meisner has started a "Meisner Weekly Challenge" for the students. It is announced on Mondays and teachers send their recommendations for students that met the challenge on Fridays where they earn a stack of Washington Bucks that can be used in our school store! These challenges are related to positive behaviors to promote a positive learning environment. We did staying on task last week, and this week was eye contact. These are the winners this week - wow!! We will continue the challenges with respectful words, calm body, respecting property, etc.
Great job kids!

Yesterday, October 1 (the first Wednesday of October), is National Coffee With a Cop Day. We had State Trooper Semmerling and State Trooper Smith join us for "coffee" (apple juice) and cookies. They took time to answer questions and show us all their equipment. One student even challenged Trooper Semmerling to a race!
