Students in Mrs. Simmons' 6th grade social studies class have been discussing the events of 9/11. First, students watched the video, Boat Lift, about boat captains who came to the rescue of the people trapped on the island of Manhattan on 9/11. Then, they experienced music that was inspired by the events of 9/11. Tomorrow, students will view a video produced by the 9/11 Museum in New York City in honor of the 25th anniversary of the tragedy. It is my hope that we never forget the events of that day.
