The junior high wrestling team traveled to DeKalb for the state wrestling tournament. The first two rounds were today, with the results of today’s matches, following:
At 65 lbs. Mackson Talley won his first two matches and is in the semifinals. He won his first match by pinning his opponent in 18 seconds. He followed that up by winning his second match by pinning his opponent in 41 seconds. If he wins his first match tomorrow morning, he will be in the championship match.
At 75 lbs. Leo Voigts also when his first two matches and is in the semifinals as well. He won his first match by pinning his opponent in 41 seconds, and his second match with a 13–0 win. If he wins his first match tomorrow morning, he will be in the championship match.
At 85 lbs. Marcos Borrego lost his first match to the number three seed, and then lost his first match in the wrestle backs. Marcos wrestled very tough, but his tournament is over.
At 145 lbs. Cam Schneider won his first about 7–3 and lost his second match 5–1. Cam is now in the wrestle backs where he can still place as high as third.
At Heavyweight, Hunter Tull pinned his first opponent in 3:21, and then lost his next match to the top seeded wrestler. He is also in the wrestle back where he can place as high as third.
It was a very good showing for the Warriors today. And we can still come away with four place winners.
