8th Grade Social Studies

This week in 8th Grade Social Studies, our students stepped back in time and experienced what life may have been like during the Great Depression. Through an interactive simulation, students were challenged to navigate a “real-life” budgeting game where they had to pay bills, make difficult financial decisions, and figure out how to survive during extremely hard economic times.

As they quickly discovered, resources were limited and choices mattered. Students had to prioritize needs over wants, stretch their budgets, and adapt when unexpected challenges came their way; much like families had to do in the 1930s.

This hands-on experience helped bring history to life, allowing students to build and gain a deeper understanding of the struggles many Americans faced during the Great Depression. 8th Grade Social Studies8th Grade Social Studies8th Grade Social Studies8th Grade Social Studies8th Grade Social Studies
