Catching up with our 8th grade boys basketball season, Pontiac lost in the semifinal game of the Livingston County Tournament (LCT) 42-25 to Flanagan. Tyson Reints had 7 points, Tyler Myers 6, Dawson Shepherd and Sharvesh Karunakaran 3 each, and Karson Pina, Easton Gonder and Ty Abraham each added 2.
The Warriors defeated St. Mary's for 3rd place in the LCT by a score of 47-30. Tyler Myers had 13, Karson Pina 11, Tyson Rients and Griffin Dodson 6 each, Dawson Shepherd 4, Easton Gonder 3, and Braylen Duncan and Ty Abraham each had 2.
The Warriors went on to beat Ridgeview 44-29 with Tyson Rients scoring 11 points, Griffin Dodson and Tyler Myers each added 10, Dawson Shepherd 9, and Sharvesh Karunakaran added 4.
In their next game the Warriors lost 41-26 against Heyworth. Tyson Rients, Tyler Myers, and Griffin Dodson each had 5 points, Dawson Shepherd 4, Braylen Duncan had 3, and Kye Metz and Karsyn Hendershott each added 2.
Against Olympia the boys lost 42-14. Tyler Myers led the team with 9 points, Fredric ONeal and Ty Abraham each added 2, and Griffin Dodson 1.
And on Saturday, Pontiac lost a close one to St. Mary's 33-31. Griffin Dodson and Tyler Myers each had 8 points, Tyson Rients and Dawson Shepherd had 5 apiece, Karson Pina 2, and Sharvesh Karunakaran added 1.
The 8th grade Warriors are now 4-7 and play tonight at Corpus Christi at 6:30 pm.
