Last night the Junior High Girls Basketball team traveled to Coal City.
The 7th graders won 21 -14, holding Coal City scoreless in the first half. Scoring for the Warriors were Nora Huncovsky with 13 points, Harper Davis with 4, and Hattie Thompson and Emerson Fenton each added 2 points. The 7th graders are now 7-13.
The 8th grade Warriors also won an exciting game. Tied at 15 going into the 4th quarter, Pontiac outscored Coal City 5-4 in the last quarter to win 20 - 19. Ava Hammer and Ella Huncovsky scored 6 points each to lead the scoring, Chloe Dearth added 5, including a key 3-pointer in the 4th quarter, Nora Huncovsky scored 2, and Sophie Shepherd had 1. The 8th grader are now 6-14.
The 7th grade Warriors play next against Olympia at the El Paso-Gridley Regionals on November 22nd at 12:30 pm.
The 8th grade Warriors will host Regionals beginning December 1. Dates and times TBA.
