The 7th/8th grade boys basketball season began last Saturday while playing at Metcalf in Normal.
The 7th grade game was a stellar back and forth game with the Warriors leading most of the way. Metcalf tied the game at the very end sending the game to overtime. In overtime, the Warriors were able to finish ahead, winning the game 37-35. Scoring for Pontiac were Kye Metz with 11 points, Ty Abraham with 9, Brady Harms 8, Braylon Duncan 7, and Roy Alvey with 2 points.
Their record is now 1-0.
The 8th grade team didn't fare as well as they played the defending State Champions. Metcalf won the game 53 -21. Scoring for the Warriors was Tyson Rients with 8 points, Tyler Myers with 5, and Griffin Dodson and Braylon Duncan each chipping in with 4 points.
Their record is now 0-1.
The next game is at home vs. Normal Parkside with the 7th game slated to start at 4:30 pm and the 8th grade game at 5:30 pm.
