Baseball Update

The Pontiac Jr. High Baseball team finished their season earlier this month losing to Coal City in Regionals, 10-0. The team finished with a 2-14 record, however, with a very young team, the players showed growth throughout the season and the prospects of a better season next year seems promising.

Leading the team in batting this season where Aiden Melvin who batted .467 and Blaize Tovrea at .375. Tovrea also led the team in doubles and RBI's, while Jackson Fosdick, Ty Abraham, and Easton Williams tied for the lead in walks.

Blaize Tovrea notched one of the wins pitching well throughout the season and ending with a 2.57 ERA. Ty Abraham also had a win and ended with a 3.73 ERA.

Jackson Fosdick, Jase Pshak, and Kyler Herring all finished above .900 in fielding percentage.

All the players worked hard in practice and game situations and we are very proud of you.

Thank you to coaches Matt Schopp and Dan Tovrea for their time and dedication to the baseball program.
