Softball Update

As the season ends for the softball team, the Warriors gave a hard fought battle in the end, falling short 12-11 in Regionals.

Prior that, on Sept. 2nd, they dropped a 14-3 decision to Coal City. In that game Laykin Newbury, Adelyn Frazier, Maya Ray, Kinsley Henry, Ella Huncovsky, Arianna DiNardi, and Tatum Burgess all had hits. Kinsley Henry pitched the whole game striking out 4.

Then on Sept. 4th the Warriors lost to Kingsley 15-3. Laykin Newbury, Harper Davis, and Sophie Shepherd were able to get hits. Kinsley Henry pitched 2 innings and struck out 2 while Kylie Newbury pitched 4 innings and struck out 3.

On Monday night, the 8th, the team traveled to Momence to play in the first round of Regionals. In a back-and-forth game, Momence edged out Pontiac 12-11. Laykin Newbury, Chloe Dearth, Maya Ray, and Harper Davis each had a hit and 2 runs scored, Tatum Burgess and Ella Huncovsky each had a hit and a run scored, and Sophie Shepherd had a hit. Kinsley Henry pitched 5 innings and struck out 9.

The girls played a great season. Even when losing, they showed resilience, perseverance, and growth. We are proud of our Warriors. A big thank you to Coach P. DiNardi and Coach M. DiNardi for their time and leadership. You are greatly appreciated.
