The Pontiac Warrior Baseball team season has begun and it started with a win over El Paso-Gridley last Thursday. Winning 7-5, Blaize Tovrea led the team with 2 hits and 2 RBI. Ty Abraham pitched 4 strong innings and had 5 strikeouts.

On Saturday, Pontiac had two games in Normal playing Parkside and then Prairie Central. In the Parkside game, the Warriors lost. Easton Williams led the offense with a hit and 2 stolen bases.

In the second game of the round-robin, Pontiac played a great game against Prairie Central. And in true Pontiac vs PC fashion, this game came down to extra innings. Tied 4-4 at the end of 7 innings, Prairie Central won in the 8th inning, but it was an exciting game. Zach Berry led the offense with 2 hits and 2 stolen bases. Blaize Tovrea pitched a gem going 5 innings only allowing 3 hits and striking out 10 batters.

The team is now 1-2 and go on the road tonight to face off Metcalf at 4:15 pm in Normal.
