Paleolithic or Neolithic?

One skill we are focusing on this year is providing evidence to support a claim. During our Stone Age unit, 6th grade students watched The Croods and identified items within the movie that are accurate and items that are inaccurate depictions of early hominids. After doing that, students evaluated cartoons and used their knowledge of Paleolithic and Neolithic eras to analyze an image, state a claim, and provide evidence to support whether the cartoon represented Paleolithic living or Neolithic living. Students did a nice job analyzing the cartoons as a whole class and in small groups.
