In 6th grade Social Studies students learned about cuneiform writing during our Mesopotamia unit. First they were given the opportunity to practice writing using the ancient symbols and then they created a word card with visual clues to help peers decipher the code. Overall students were glad that they did not have to learn the cuneiform alphabet!
